Who Invented Cottage Pie?
The exact origin of Cottage Pie is unknown, but it is widely believed that it originated in Britain in the late 18th century as a way to use up leftover meats and vegetables in a hearty dish. Some credit the creation of Cottage Pie to the Irish and call it “Shepherd’s Pie” when made with lamb. However, there is no one inventor of Cottage Pie as it is a traditional dish that evolved over time.
