Why Are They Called Disco Fries?
Disco fries got their name from their popularity in bistros and diners open late into the night in New Jersey and New York. Disco music was popular in the late 1970s, and the snack was a staple of late-night crowds dancing, eating, and generally having a good time. The fries’ gooey, melted cheese and salty gravy seem to epitomize the party atmosphere of the era.
