How Do You Store Leeks Long Term?
The best way to store leeks long term is to trim off any roots and leaves, wrap them in a damp paper towel, and place them in a plastic bag with some air holes. Store in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Alternatively, you can blanch and freeze leeks for up to six months. To blanch, chop the leeks, boil for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to ice water to cool. Drain and freeze in an airtight container or freezer bag.
