While plantains are a good source of fiber, vitamins C and A, and potassium, when they are fried, they are less healthy. Fried plantains are high in calories, fat, and sodium, which can harm your health when consumed in excess. However, when fried in a healthy oil, such as olive or avocado oil, and consumed in moderation, they can still be a part of a balanced diet.
