What Is Jerk Style?
Jerk style is a cooking technique and flavor commonly associated with Jamaica. It involves marinating meat (usually chicken or pork) in a spicy mixture of allspice, Scotch Bonnet peppers, thyme, onion, garlic, and other herbs and spices. The meat is then grilled or smoked over wood chips, giving it a distinctive smoky, spicy flavor. Jerk seasoning is also commonly used on fish, tofu, and vegetables.
