How Do You Prepare Butternut Squash For Freezing?
First, you need to select a good quality butternut squash, wash it thoroughly and use a sharp knife to peel the skin. Cut it into your desired size and remove the seeds. Then, blanch the squash in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes and immediately move it to ice-cold water. Once drained, arrange the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and flash freeze them. After 1-2 hours of flash freezing, pack the butternut squash pieces into freezer bags, label them with the date and freeze for up to 8 months.
