Is Non Stick Anodized Cookware Safe?
Non-stick anodized cookware is generally considered safe as long as it is used properly and not overheated. The anodization process creates a hard, non-reactive surface that prevents food from sticking, but also makes it resistant to scratches and corrosion. Most non-stick coatings used in anodized cookware are made without PFOA, a chemical known to be harmful if ingested. However, some may still contain small amounts of PTFE, which can release toxic fumes if heated above 500°F. To ensure safety, it is recommended to use non-stick anodized cookware on low to medium heat and not to use metal utensils or abrasive cleaners that can damage the non-stick surface.
