What Soups Do Mexicans Eat?
Mexicans typically eat a variety of soups, many of which are based on ingredients commonly used in Mexican cuisine such as beans, chiles, and tomatoes. Some popular Mexican soups include pozole, a hominy soup typically made with pork; tortilla soup, a tomato-based soup with fried tortillas; sopa de lima, a citrusy chicken soup from the Yucatan region; and caldo de res, a beef and vegetable soup often served with lime and fresh cilantro. Other popular options include seafood soups like caldo de camarón (shrimp soup) and shrimp and crab bisque.
