Is Pecan A Walnut?
Pecan is not a walnut, but they both belong to the same family of trees known as Juglandaceae. Pecans have a thin, smooth outer shell that is easily cracked, while walnuts have a thicker, harder shell that is more difficult to open. The two nuts have distinct differences in taste, texture, and nutritional content, but they share a similar nutritional profile and are both good sources of healthy fats and protein.
