How Are Chickens Packaged?
Chickens are usually packaged whole or in cut pieces, such as breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks. Whole chickens are typically packaged in plastic bags or shrink-wrap that is vacuum-sealed to extend the shelf life. Cut pieces are more commonly sold in trays covered with plastic wrap or in resealable bags. The packaging also includes labeling with information on the weight, quality, and handling instructions of the product.
