How Refried Beans Are Made?
Refried beans are typically made by first cooking pinto beans until they are tender. The beans are then drained and mashed with a potato masher or blended until smooth. Bacon or lard is then heated in a large skillet before the mashed beans are added along with spices and seasoning. The beans are then cooked until they thicken and develop a smooth and creamy texture. They are called “refried” beans because they are traditionally cooked twice, but they are not actually fried again after being mashed.
