How Does A Clambake Work?
A clambake involves cooking seafood, particularly clams, in a fire pit covered with layers of seaweed, corn husks, and damp cloth to retain heat and moisture. The layers are stacked with lobsters, clams, mussels, potatoes, onions and other vegetables, which slowly cook for hours until they are fully done. Once cooked, the layers are carefully removed, and the food is served hot with melted butter. Clambakes are popular in coastal areas of the US and are a traditional method of outdoor cooking, typically enjoyed in large groups or family gatherings.
