Can You Machine Wash A Down Sleeping Bag?
It is generally not recommended to machine wash a down sleeping bag as the agitation and chemicals in the detergent can damage the delicate down fill and affect its insulating properties. Hand washing or spot cleaning with a gentle detergent and warm water is a better option. If a machine wash is required, it should be done with a front-loading machine on a delicate cycle with a specialized down wash and no fabric softener. It is also important to dry the sleeping bag thoroughly on a low heat setting with clean tennis balls or dryer balls to prevent clumping of the down fill.
