How Do You Prepare Fresh Pearl Onions?
Fresh pearl onions can be prepared by first trimming off the roots and then blanching them in salted boiling water for 1-2 minutes. After blanching, immediately transfer the onions to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once the onions have cooled, gently squeeze them to loosen the outer skin and peel off the skin. The pearl onions can then be roasted, sautéed, or pickled as desired.
