What Is The Difference Between A Dial Gauge And Weighted Gauge Pressure Canner?
A dial gauge pressure canner uses a dial gauge to measure the pressure inside the canner, which is more accurate than a weighted gauge pressure canner. A weighted gauge pressure canner has a weighted pressure regulator on top of the vent tube that jiggles and releases steam to control the pressure. Dial gauge pressure canners need to be tested yearly for accuracy, while weighted gauge pressure canners don’t require testing. However, weighted gauge pressure canners require more attention to ensure the pressure is regulated correctly and can be more prone to clogging.
