How Is Salsa Traditionally Made?
Salsa is traditionally made by combining chopped tomatoes, onions, chili peppers, and cilantro with lime juice and salt. The ingredients are mixed together in a molcajete, a traditional Mexican mortar and pestle, or a blender. However, there are many variations of salsa, and additional ingredients such as garlic, avocado, and fruit can also be added to create different flavor profiles. The key to a good salsa is using fresh ingredients and balancing the amount of acidity, sweetness, and spiciness.
