At What Temp Does Wax Paper Melt?
Wax paper is designed to be heat resistant but it does have a melting point. The melting point of wax paper is between 150 to 200 degrees Celsius (or 302 to 392 degrees Fahrenheit) depending on the quality and thickness of the wax coating. At such high temperatures, the wax starts to melt and could leak onto the food, making it unsafe for consumption. Therefore, it is not recommended to use wax paper in the oven or microwave.
