Why Is A Salad Called Cobb?
A salad is called Cobb after its creator, Robert H. Cobb, who was the owner of the famous Brown Derby restaurant in Hollywood, California. In 1937, he mixed leftovers from the restaurant’s kitchen, including avocado, bacon, tomatoes, chicken, and blue cheese, to create a satisfying and refreshing salad. The salad quickly became popular among restaurant patrons and was eventually named after its inventor, becoming known as Cobb salad.
