Why Does My Homemade Yogurt Separate?
Homemade yogurt may separate due to several reasons. One common reason is inadequate mixing of the milk and starter culture. If the mixture is not stirred well during the incubation process, the yogurt may not integrate properly and separate. Moreover, if the milk is heated above the recommended temperature, it can cause the yogurt to separate. In some cases, using old or weak starter culture can also cause separation. However, separation does not mean the yogurt is spoiled and can still be consumed. Simply stir the yogurt to combine the liquid and solid components before consuming.
