Tamarind paste can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 6 months. It can also be frozen for longer storage. To freeze tamarind paste, divide it into portions and wrap each portion tightly in plastic wrap or put it in an airtight container before freezing. When you need to use tamarind paste, just thaw it in the refrigerator overnight or on the counter at room temperature for a couple of hours.
