How Do You Clean Fresh Artichokes?
To clean fresh artichokes, start by removing any small leaves near the base. Cut off the top third of the artichoke and trim the stem. Use a spoon to scoop out the hairy choke in the center if the artichoke is mature. Rinse the artichoke thoroughly with cold water. If desired, soak the artichoke in a bowl of lemon water for about 15 minutes to prevent browning. Pat dry with a paper towel and it’s ready to use in your favorite recipes.
