How Do You Treat A Rice Sprain?
RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is the most effective treatment for rice sprains. First, rest the affected area and avoid putting weight on it. Apply ice to the area for 20 minutes at a time, several times a day, to reduce swelling and pain. Use compression by wrapping the affected area with an elastic bandage or splint. Elevate the affected area above the level of the heart to reduce swelling. Physical therapy and over-the-counter pain medication may also be recommended for more severe sprains.
