How Do You Know When Spaetzle Is Done?
Spaetzle is done cooking when they float to the surface of the boiling water and have been cooked for an additional 1-2 minutes. The texture should be tender, but not mushy, and they should hold together well when cooked. Test a noodle by cutting it in half to check if it is cooked all the way through. Once fully cooked, remove the spaetzle from the pot using a slotted spoon or mesh strainer to drain off any excess water.
