Why Cant You Reheat Unpopped Popcorn Kernels?
Unpopped popcorn kernels contain a small amount of moisture. When heated, this moisture turns into steam, which creates pressure inside the kernel. Eventually, the pressure becomes too much, and the kernel explodes, turning into fluffy popcorn. However, if you try to reheat unpopped popcorn kernels, the moisture inside the kernel has already been released once, meaning the pressure has been dissipated. Therefore, when you reheat the kernel, it will not pop and instead either burn or become hard and inedible.
