Why Are They Called Hasselback Potatoes?
Hasselback potatoes are named after the restaurant where they were first served, the Hasselbacken hotel in Stockholm, Sweden in the 18th century. The dish is simply a baked potato cut into thin slices down the length of the potato, with butter and breadcrumbs sprinkled over the top. It is a classic Swedish dish that has become popular throughout the world, and the name has remained as a tribute to the original place of creation.
