Why Is Coffee Forbidden In The Mormon Church?
The Mormon Church, also known as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, prohibits the consumption of coffee and other caffeinated drinks because it is believed that the body is a sacred gift from God. Caffeine is considered a stimulant that can harm the body and impair one’s ability to feel the spirit. Additionally, the church emphasizes moderation and self-control in all aspects of life, including food and beverage consumption. However, this prohibition is not strictly enforced, and some members may choose to consume coffee and other caffeinated drinks.
