How Do You Cut A Fresh Coconut?
The first step in cutting a fresh coconut is to pierce the softest “eye” of the coconut using a sharp tool, then drain the water from inside. Then, place the coconut on a flat surface and use a large knife or cleaver to carefully slice off the top layer of the shell. Once the shell is removed, use a vegetable peeler or knife to remove the brown skin on the outside of the coconut meat. Finally, chop or shred the coconut meat into smaller pieces as needed for your recipe.
