How Do I Prep A Turkey?
To prep a turkey, first remove any giblets and neck from the cavity. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Rub softened butter or oil under and over the skin and season with salt, pepper, and any other desired spices. Stuff the cavity with a mixture of herbs, aromatics, and/or bread if desired. Tie the legs together with kitchen twine and tuck the wings behind the back. Place the turkey breast-side up in a roasting pan and cook according to your preferred recipe.
