How Are Dough Made?
Dough is made by combining flour, water, yeast, sugar, and salt. The ingredients are mixed together and kneaded until the gluten in the flour forms strands that give the dough its elasticity. Depending on the recipe, other ingredients like oil, eggs, milk, or honey may be added. The dough is then left to rise, which allows the yeast to ferment and produce carbon dioxide gas, making the dough rise. After rising, the dough is punched down and shaped into the desired form before being baked.
