Who Invented Mac N Cheese?
The origin of mac n cheese can be traced back to sixteenth century Italy where it was known as maccheroni. However, it was not until the late 18th century when a recipe for macaroni and cheese appeared in a cookbook by Elizabeth Raffald, making her one of the earliest known creators of the dish. It became popular in the United States during the 20th century, with the introduction of boxed macaroni and cheese by Kraft Foods in 1937.
