What Are Salisbury Steaks Made Of?
Salisbury steaks are typically made of ground beef mixed with breadcrumbs, minced onion, egg, and seasoning. The mixture is formed into a patty shape and then cooked either by grilling, pan-frying, or broiling. A sauce made of beef broth, flour, and seasonings is often served on top of the patties. Vegetables such as mushrooms or onions may also be added to the sauce.
