What Foods Are Traditionally Eaten On Purim?
Purim is a festive holiday celebrated by Jews all around the world. The traditional foods that are eaten on Purim include Hamantaschen, a pastry that is shaped like a triangle and is filled with various sweet fillings like jam, poppy seed, or chocolate chips. Other traditional foods include kreplach, a boiled dumpling filled with meat or cheese, challah, a braided bread, and wine, which is drunk during the festive meal. Some people also eat dried fruit, nuts, and seeds as a symbol of Queen Esther’s vegetarian diet while she was in the palace.
