How Do You Blanch Brussel Sprouts?
To blanch Brussel sprouts, first bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. While the water is heating up, prepare a bowl of ice water. Trim the ends of the Brussel sprouts and score the bottoms with a shallow “X” using a sharp knife. Once the water is boiling, add the sprouts and cook for 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to transfer them to the bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process and preserve their bright green color. Drain the sprouts and they’re ready to be used in any recipe.
